Neustadt was named one of the ten
prettiest villages in Canada
by Harrowsmith Magazine in their April
2000 edition

Neustadt blends
the historic with the contemporary, and has been able to
retain it's rural village character in a picturesque country setting
steeped in tradition. Founded in 1855 by David Winkler, Neustadt
(German for new town) is the birthplace of Canada's 13th Prime
Minister, John Diefenbaker.
While strolling through the friendly village,
visitors can choose from an array of specialty shops featuring
antiques, art, handmade quilts, collectibles, fabrics, garden art and
supplies, gifts, primitives, home decor, dried flowers, pottery, craft supplies, wild
bird feed, and oriental furniture. We have a working brewery with a
retail shop, a meat market and of course the Canadian Royal Heritage
Museum (Diefenbaker Home)
Also for visitors enjoyment, great
meals are available at one of our fine restaurants or tavern, or enjoy
a family picnic at the Neustadt Lions Community Park.

An added bonus of any Neustadt visit is the opportunity for
side trips to the surrounding countryside. The gently rolling
